How To Take Care of Yourself?

Everyone is often busy taking of others and meeting deadlines and giving the best in work that there is rarely take time for ourselves. In fact, it is even considered to be selfish to take care of oneself and feel guilty when we do so. Self-care is so important only when one is happy and relaxed can we take care of everything else without it overpowering and there is nothing wrong in looking into your well-being.

When it comes to looking after yourself you have to pay attention to your physical, mental and social wellbeing.

Sleep is the most important

When one gets busy the first thing that gets sacrificed is the sleep. We think that we can get more time by sacrificing sleep but what is not realized is that you are depleting your energy by sacrificing sleep. sleep is very vital. It is the time the brain and body get to rest. An adult needs an average of 8 hours of sleep. Not getting enough sleep will lead to being tired the whole day which in turn will increase stress.

You should establish a routine and make sure to go to bed on time. Finish everything by a specific time so that you can get 8 hours of sleep. Don’t drink coffee in the night and stay away from heavy meals and keep the phone away at least one hour before sleep.

Eat properly

Eating properly will also affect your well-being, eat good and healthy food. As one starts getting busy, we get tempted to eat from outside or eat instant food which is really bad for health. Make sure to nourish yourself properly, allocate some time and prep some meals and cook your own meals as they are way healthier. Include the correct proportions of carbohydrates, proteins and fats and eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

Engage in some leisure activity

Engage in some activity that you find, this can be sitting by the window and reading or gardening. If there are any sports you enjoy you can call some friends to play. For example, if you are interested in golf, you can book a golf resort Victoria has some good places.

Go on a holiday

Taking a break from your busy schedule will help you relax; you can get a few days off or on a weekend you can pack up and go on a holiday. This you can arrange with your friends or family.

Exercise to keep yourself active

Exercise is very important to keep your body healthy. It not only keeps you physically healthy but also mentally. When one exercises there are hormones released those lifts one’s mood. If you are a very busy person, you might not always find time to go to the gym, you can just allocate 30 min and do some exercises at home or go for jogging or walking outside.

Start journaling

Journaling is a very good way of being mindful, fill up your journal with what you have to do and at the end of the day write something you are grateful for.
